Through visual experiments, audience games and familiar real-world examples, this interactive talk explores how typography, shape, colour, packaging and branding influence the assumptions we make in seconds.
We’ll also examine the Kiki/Bouba effect and how our brains instinctively connect visual cues with qualities, emotions and meaning.
The goal isn’t to stop design from influencing us – it’s to become more aware of when and how it happens. No design background is required.

Meera Patel is a Canadian creative consultant specializing in branding, web design and social media management in a multitude of industries including Oil & Gas, Real Estate, Health and more. She helps businesses translate their ideas into clear, memorable visual identities and effective online experiences. Meera has delivered lectures and workshops at the University of Calgary, and Bow Valley College, as well as a sold-out presentation of Why We Buy With Our Eyes through Boozy Lectures Canada. She is currently working and travelling through Europe while sharing her expertise with creative and entrepreneurial communities along the way.
